Celebrating Global Running Day

What a turn out today for Global Running Day at The Sports Room. Led by our friends at InnerFight, over 40 of us headed off for a 5k run from the shop around Wicklow Town to celebrate the joy of running. Global Running Day is a celebration of movement, health and community and we sure felt that celebration today. It was great to start the day early, catch up with friends and enjoy a coffee afterwards at The Good Life and treats from Nobo and El's Big Juicy Balls. And of course, a few spot prizes - Brooks runners, Vaga hats, Salomon socks, Goodr sunglasses.

Running means so many things to people, here's what some of the runners today had to say - running is everything, it's freedom, it's life, it's clarity, sanity, friendship, community, escapism, it's epic! For us at The Sports Room, community is such an important part of our business and we truly appreciate everyone who has helped make our shop a community hub. We were thrilled to get another 5 star review on Trustpilot today, which kind of summed up what we've been trying to achieve over the last 10 years: "Fantastic local sports shop...and a real community hub....what really sets this place apart is the sense of community, it's great to see a business so invested in the town".
