Stability running shoes are designed to support runners who overpronate - that's when the foot rolls excessively inward during the stride. These shoes include features that help control motion, reduce strain on joints, and guide the foot into a more efficient, neutral alignment.
We recommend coming into The Sports Room for accurate fitting of your new run shoe. At the shop, you can avail of our 3D foot scanner as well as sound advice on which type of runner you need. However, if you are at home and shopping online and unsure whether you should buy a stability running shoe you could: (a) check if you have low arches (you can do this by looking at the mark your foot leaves on the floor after a shower - if you can't see the arch, you're likely needing a bit of support; (b) your old shoes are excessively worn down on either side. If you have injuries or issues like shin splints, plantar fasciitis or knee pain a stability shoe may help.
