Ready to try out a race day shoe? Like to give a plated shoe a try before you buy? We’re excited to have our Hoka friends down to the shop again! This time Jhon is bringing some fast racing shoes along. What a great opportunity to test out a race day shoe, especially if you’re training for the marathon. (But they work just as well for fast 5k runs). If you run on the track or do speedwork, we think you’ll like these Hokas! Our friends from InnerFight will lead the 5k run around Wicklow Town, introducing some stride work and giving out plenty of run tips on the loop.
First out, is the Hoka Rocket X3. Like its name, it’s fast! Snappy and responsive this carbon plate racer has little winglets which give the shoe a nice bit of stability. There’s good traction on the outsole for those wetter training days. With a 7mm heel drop, this is an aggressive shoe that’s bouncy and soft. It’s a very comfortable running shoe for long distances like a half marathon, full marathon and more. It’s a light run shoe, with a new jacquard upper for breathability, a new tongue construction and a more padded heel. All round comfort for your next long distance run.
If a tempo run is part of your marathon training plan, you’re gong to like the Hoka Mach X3. This is a daily trainer that works well as a race day shoe. This cushioned tempo trainer / speed shoe comes with a Pebax Plate for snappy, up-tempo training miles. Come along to our event with Hoka and see how the Pebax Plate and Hoka rocker work so well together to give you a feeling of propulsion and forward rolling. The Mach X3 is another bouncy, stable, fast paced running shoe from Hoka.
For those of you who just want to come along to the event because you know how much fun the Hoka ones are, we’ll also have the Clifton 10 available for testing. Perfect for everyday running, this Hoka favourite comes with even more cushioning, this is a light, plush run shoe for daily miles.
