Light Up the Trails: Guided Night Trail Run with Petzl

There’s something special about running trails after dark. The noise fades, the senses sharpen and the trail feels completely different underfoot. On Wednesday, March 11th, we’re inviting you to experience that for yourself with a guided night trail run in Carrick, in collaboration with Petzl.

This is a chance to step off the roads, head into the hills and experience trail running in low light - fully supported and guided, with the right kit to do it confidently.

Try Petzl headlamps on real trails

On the night, every runner will be provided with a Petzl headlamp to use throughout the run. This isn’t a quick try-on in the shop - it’s a proper chance to test the lights where they matter most: on uneven terrain, twists and turns, climbs and descents. The team from The Sports Room will be there alongside a Petzl representative to answer questions, talk through different lighting options and help you understand what works best for your style of running.

The run

The route will cover 5–7km of local trails and will be led by Enda, who’ll guide the group, manage pacing and make sure everyone feels comfortable on the terrain. This is about experience, confidence and enjoyment, not racing!

Parking will be available at the GAA Club, with full details shared closer to the event.
